About the Captain…
Chris Martin, USCG Licensed Captain
Captain Chris Martin grew up in Ocean View and has been fishing the waters of the Chesapeake Bay and Atlantic Ocean since childhood, spending most of his spare time on the water. He has always had a passion for fishing and has a vast knowledge of catching both inshore and offshore fish. He has competed in numerous tournaments and spent several years as a commercial fisherman. Chris has recently decided to share that passion and expertise with others as a Charter Captain. He is a member of the Norfolk Angler's Club and the Virginia Charter Boat Association. Chris is a graduate of Virginia Tech and has spent the last 14 years as a teacher. When not on the water, he enjoys spending his free time with friends and family including his wife, Ashley and son, Zayne.

Takedown Sportfishing, LLC was created to share Chris’ passion and knowledge for catching a wide variety of fish. Takedown Sportsfishing, LLC provides families, friends and fishermen of all skill levels an enjoyable time on the water. Whether you want to catch the big one or spend some fun, memory-filled hours on the water, Takedown Sprortfishing, LLC is here to give you that opportunity. The business name originated from the many years that Chris spent competing and coaching the sport of wrestling at both the high school and college levels.
About the Boat…
Our boat is a fully equipped 23-foot walk-around with a custom cobia tower. It has the latest electronics to locate the fish and keep you safe on the water. It is powered by a 250-HP Yamaha 4-stroke, which helps get to the fish fast. The boat's cabin helps keep guests out of the elements provides a place to rest.
